In the Valley
There's loads of family attractions in the Nadder Valley - from the 2,650 acre Stourhead Estate, to the Bush Farm Bison Centre and Old Wardour Castle - the Nadder Valley has it all!

Bush Farm Bison Centre
Come and enjoy a day out and see bison, elk, raccoons, prairie dogs and chipmunks all on a South Wiltshire farm. Over 30 acres of lakes and oak woodlands to explore with picnic and play areas. Display of native American art and artefacts and history about the bison in shop. Refreshments/light meals available. Camping and Caravan Club pitches and events programme.
Old Wardour Castle
The original castle was partially destroyed during the Civil War. Learn about its eventful past on the fascinating audio trail. Children will love to explore the grotto and castle rooms or imagine themselves starring in the Hollywood Blockbuster, Prince of Thieves, part of which was filmed here. Family fun trails through the summer months and events programme throughout the year.
Ansty Pick Your Own and Farm Shop
Family run, award-winning rural business in beautiful countryside overlooking the downs. Farm shop, pick your own, lovely tea room where visitors can relax over a cup of tea and homemade cake, family events programme and Ansty Farm Shop animals including 300 laying hens, 50 ducks and 9 pigs!
The Fonthill Estate
The Fonthill Estate comprises 8,500 acres with over 100 residential properties and 40 commercial properties let to a diverse range of businesses.
As well as farming and forestry, the estate runs a small but very successful private Stud farm and hosts 35 days shooting a year employing three gamekeepers.
A fishing syndicate exists for carp fishing on the large lake and there are lovely walks on the Rights of Way network through the estate.
There are also two attractive lodges called Splendens available to rent as holiday lets through the award-wining Beckford Arms pub nearby. Other party venues to hire include Bake Barn which is a large magnificent shooting lodge, and Quarry Wood, a perfect site for weddings.
The Tithe Barn in Tisbury currently undergoing refurbishment, will be ready for spectacular parties in 2014. The estate is also keen to promote green technology and in 2011 invested in various alternative energy schemes including hydro-electric power from the lake, two solar power sites, and a biomass woodchip boiler.
Wilton House has been the family home of the Earl of Pembroke since the 1540s. It offers visitors 17th Century interiors, a world famous art collection and sculpture gallery and rooms full of over 450 years of Pembroke family history. Set in 22 acres of beautiful gardens and parkland, bordered by the River Wylye and Nadder, perfect for visitors to explore, relax in or have a picnic, watch your children let off steam in the adventure play-ground, or buy a souvenir to take home in the gift shop. Refreshments also available in the restaurant.
